SFC Personal Training Members Receive:
--8 weeks of group training sessions with a personal trainer. (A total of 14 sessions with a maximum of 5 people per group.)
--Before and after fitness assessments.
--Workout log and training program.
--Full access to FAC during the Fit Club period.

Cost: Members: $125
Non-members: $165
Member Discount: Refer a non-member to the program and receive a 50% discount on your admission into the program!

What is the Senior Fit Club?

Senior Fit Club is a program designed for active older adults to promote healthy lifestyles.

You can participate in the program by signing up for the twice-yearly, fee-based “Personal Training Program, or you can participate in drop in classes and 101/102 Swimming classes, which are included in an FAC membership.

The program aims to:

--Improve overall quality of life

--Improve flexibility, strength and balance

--Reduce stress

--Improve condifence

--Increase endurance

--Teach sport skills


 

Winter 2008 Swimming 101 and 102 Classes will start the week of Jan. 7th.

Swimming 101
Learn how to relax in the water, float, and breath correctly, the skills and techniques of the basic strokes, how to use the pace clock, build endurance, and use swim “toys”. Class runs for 4 weeks in the indoor or outdoor pool, weather depending.

When: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
1:30-2:15pm

Swimming 102
A follow-up class to Swimming 101 that aims to increase your fitness and endurance levels. This class will also benefit your cardiovascular system and your overall ability as a pool and open water swimmer. Class runs for 4 weeks, in the indoor or outdoor pool, weather depending.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I get started?
Depending on what time of year it is, you can start by joining the Senior Fit Club Personal Training Program, or you can just attend some of the drop in classes or 101/102 classes. All instructors should be able to help you get started.

Is there a fee for SFC?
Please see above for details about pricing for SFC Personal Training, which does cost extra. All other classes, including 101/102 classes are included in an FAC membership. For non-members a guest fee will be charged.

How do I sign up for the SFC?
Sign up at the front desk for SFC Personal Training once dates are announced. Sign up for 101 classes also take place at the front desk. Drop in classes do not require advanced registration.

Special Class for Arthritis Sufferers

Arthritis Aquatics


Water is a safe, ideal environment for relieving arthritis pain and stiffness. Arthritis Aquatics is a water exercise program designed for people with arthritis and related conditions that allows you to exercise without putting excess strain on your joints and muscles. Taught by certified arthritis instructor Bob Nelson, this class will be sure to improve the conditions of your arthritis.
